ZeroTrace BLELogger
Companion Desktop App
COM-port management for BLELogger
The same Companion app used for ZeroTrace HID also manages BLELogger. It's the cross-platform serial wrapper for COM-port operations — firmware updates, terminal access, device dashboard.

What it adds beyond the web UI
The web UI handles every BLELogger feature you'll use day-to-day. The Companion app adds:
- Direct serial terminal — low-level commands and diagnostics.
- Firmware update with progress bar — alternative to the browser-based Web Flasher.
- Dashboard for multiple devices when you have several BLELoggers on a hub.
Quick connect
- Download and install.
- Plug BLELogger's COM port into your computer with a data cable.
- Launch Companion → device appears in the dashboard.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| No device in port list | Cable is charge-only — swap. Confirm you're on the COM port. |
| Permission denied (Linux) | Group not active — groups should show dialout / uucp. |
| Port busy | Another app holds the port (Web Flasher, browser serial monitor). Close it. |
