ZeroTrace HID
WiFi-Controlled Operation
Trigger and edit payloads from any browser on the device's network
Once you join the device's ... ZT AP (or its STA-mode network), the entire feature set is available in your browser at http://192.168.4.1. No SSH, no terminal, no install on the controlling device.
What you can do over WiFi
- Edit scripts in the script editor, save to device storage.
- Trigger payloads with one click — useful for plant-and-trigger workflows.
- Drive Live Mode — virtual keyboard and joystick controlling the target host.
- Manage files — upload, edit, delete, set autostart.
- Configure settings — WiFi, BLE, layout, power, recon, self-destruct.
- Read live execution log — every command, its result, and timing.
Standoff distance
In typical office construction (drywall partitions, no metal obstructions):
| Power mode | One wall | Open line of sight |
|---|---|---|
| Low | ~5 m | ~10 m |
| Normal | ~15 m | ~25 m |
| High | ~25 m | ~50 m |
Phones and laptops on the device's AP are throttled to the device's link rate (typically 24 Mbps) — fine for the web UI, slow for file uploads larger than a few MB.
Multi-controller behavior
Multiple browsers can open the web UI simultaneously, but Live Mode is single-controller — second connections see a "controller in use" banner.
Securing the AP
Default password ZeroTrace is publicly documented. Change it in Settings → WiFi → AP → Password before deployment in untrusted environments.
